Planting trees

For each sold NIKIN-product, we plant a tree where it is needed the most.

Tree by tree: NIKIN reaches another milestone

Unbelievable, but true: NIKIN has planted a whole million trees together with the community. Since its founding in 2016, NIKIN has planted one tree for every product sold. It took four years until the half million mark was reached in the spring of this year and now we can already proudly look back on a whole million trees. Who would have thought it?! Nicholas and Robin, who met for a beer in Lenzburg in the fall of 2016 and the idea "NIKIN" was created, probably not.

And now that the long-sought goal has been reached, NIKIN already has new goals in mind. Maybe 10 million? At least there can never be too many trees, because every single one counts.

1 million, 1,000,000 or 106 trees planted – an incredible number

How can one imagine a million trees? A comparison: One million trees cover an area of approximately 81 km2. The city of Zurich has a surface of around 88 km2. So NIKIN has planted almost the entire surface of Switzerland's largest city with trees – figuratively speaking, of course. A little more concretely: One million trees cover an area of around 11'345 football fields.

When each of the million trees planted is fully grown, oxygen is produced for about two million people and at the same time an average of 10 kilograms of CO2 is absorbed per tree per year. One million trees therefore absorb about 10,000 CO2 – every year.
